Rowley Prize 2014 is awarded to Dr Owen N. Witte

In September 2014, at the John Goldman Annual Conference on CML,  the iCMLf Rowley Prize will be awarded to Dr Owen Witte, a Distinguished Professor of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular genetics at the University of California Los Angeles. The Rowley Prize is awarded annually to individuals who have made major lifetime contributions to the understanding of the biology of CML. The award recognises Dr Witte’s outstanding contributions in fundamental research such as the discovery of the tyrosine kinase activity for the ABL gene and the demonstration of the BCR-ABL oncoproteins in leukemia.
