ABOUT THE CONFERENCE:

ESH is pleased to announce and to invite you to its 1st Scientific Workshop on « How Data Science and AI Transform Research and Care in Haematology ».

This Scientific ESH Workshop covers developments in data science/AI and how these will be instrumental to the future care and research in clinical and translational Haematology. The workshop will serve doctors and scientist in training to understand how data science will strengthen the work and research of clinician and researchers alike. The workshop is also intended to develop a community of data scientists and clinicians/researchers with a haematology focus.

This workshop offers highest-level science on the interface of data analysis, bioinformatics and AI with haematology and blood cancer research. It also aims to provide an opportunity where researchers and clinicians can bring projects on haematological cancers and discuss how tools in data science can help solve important questions with the speakers, peers and chairs. We aim to promote scientific interaction between participants from all over the world, involving junior and senior data scientist, biologists and clinicians working in both the academic and industrial settings.

MAIN SCIENTIFIC TOPICS:

– The role of AI in haematology
– Modern statistics and AI methods in haematology
– Big data integration, networking and federation
– Big data and AI for improved diagnosis and prognostication in haematology
– Big data and synthetic data
– AI in haematology: successes, setbacks, and the path to standardization
– Infrastructure, security and collaboration in the age of digital haematology

THE PROGRAMME WILL INCLUDE:

– Plenary Sessions
– Panel Discussions
– Poster Walks
– Meet the Expert Sessions
– Ample time for in-depth discussion

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

– Understanding the use of data science in Clinical Haematology
– Understanding the use of data science in Haematology Research
– Discuss cutting edge examples of data science applications in e.g. AML and CLL
– Understand how AI can improve diagnostics

THIS MEETING WILL BE OF INTEREST TO YOU IF YOU ARE:

– Junior and senior data scientists, researchers in the field of life science and clinicians (MD, PhD, MD-PhD)
– Residents, data scientist and biologists in-training
– Industry members with an interest in AI, big data and analysis tools applied to problems of haematology
