#ESHBMFS2022 starts on Friday, November 18th
Join us in Paris for this outstanding Conference!

Meet our international faculty of global experts

On behalf of the European School of Haematology and the Severe Aplastic Anaemia Working Party of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT), we are very pleased to invite you to this Translational Research Conference on Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes (BMFS).

About the Programme:

The 2nd ESH-EBMT Translational Research Conference: Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes: From the cell to the cure of the disease proposes a programme of leading-edge basic and clinical science,

as well as opportunities for informal scientific interaction with a panel of global experts in the field.

An outstanding faculty of distinguished global experts will present the most recent advances and new perspectives in the field of Bone Marrow. The presentation of unpublished data is encouraged.

Ample time is deliberately provided for scientific discussion and interaction.

The meeting will be of particular value for clinicians and non-clinical scientists, M.D. and Ph.D. of all ages interested in the biology, pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of bone marrow failure syndromes (BMFS).
We will not only discuss the standard of care in acquired but also inherited BMFS occurring in adult and paediatric patients, but particularly focus on new underlying principles and evolving new treatment strategies.

In good tradition of ESH, we will put special effort on low threshold exchange between young scientists and experts in the field, as well as between clinicians and basic scientists.

Meet-the-experts workshop as well as poster walks will allow to highlight topics of special attention and to enable further in-depth exchange. Our dedicated faculty will secure the highest standard of both clinical, translational and basic research.

Registered participants are invited to submit their Biology and Clinical abstracts.

Selected abstracts will be presented as brief oral communications or posters.

Deadline for abstracts: August 24, 2022

We are very much looking forward to welcoming participants from all around the world in Paris in November.

Conference main topics:

• Stem cell biology: From stress to failure

• Constitutional marrow failure 1: Fanconi Anaemia

• Constitutional marrow failure 2: Ribosome diseases

• Constitutional marrow failure 3: telomere biology diseases and other...

• Immune aplastic anaemia and paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria 1: Pathophysiology and diagnosis

• Idiopathic aplastic anaemia and paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria 2: Differential diagnosis and clonal evolution

• Treatment of immune aplastic anaemia

• Treatment of paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria

• Emerging areas and new challenges

• Expanding areas in BMFS

Learning objectives:

• Improve understanding of the stem cell biology of BMF, from genotoxic stress, inflammaging to failure

• Acquire knowledge of recent advances in Fanconi Anaemia, Ribosome diseases and telomere biology disorder (TBD)

• Gain insight into novel therapeutics of Paroxysmal Nocturnal Haemoglobinuria and idiopathic Aplastic Anaemia, including knowledge of complement cascade, the current developmental status of various targeted drugs and of novel antibody-based and small molecules based immunotherapeutic approaches, and their promise for future clinical application

• Acquire an overview of emerging approaches and new challenges such as genetic editing of haemopoietic stem cells, single cell RNA sequencing in haemopoiesis and genetic predisposition for myeloid malignancies.

The programme will include:

Plenary Sessions - Simultaneous Meet the Expert Sessions

Panel Discussions - Mentored Poster Walks - Brief Oral Communications
