We are very pleased to be able to report on the success of the ESH-iCMLf Conference on Chronic Myeloid Leukemia : Biology and Therapy. The meeting took place in the ‘green’ conference centre in Estoril, Portugal under the scientific direction of John Goldman, Jorge Cortes and Tim Hughes. The conference welcomed over 460 participants from all over the world. The programme featured new aspects as compared to previous years, including a stronger clinical component, more emphasis on posters and very successful poster walks and small scientific workshops on specific themes for non-clinical scientists. There were also opportunities to organize satellite symposia which were successfully taken up by Bristol-Myers Squibb, the Diamond Corporate Partner of this conference, and by Pfizer, Emerald Conference Partner. In September 2012, this conference will take place in Baltimore, USA and in 2013, we will be back in Europe.
Time is running out to register for the ESH-EHA Scientific Workshop on AML which will take place in southern France on October 14-16. If you are interested in being with us for this cutting-edge programme conceived by Bob Löwenberg and Hartmut Döhner, register on-line at www.esh.org – or contact Camille Frank camille.frank@univ-paris-diderot.fr
There is still time to register for the first ESH-ISTH Advanced Course on Thrombosis and Haemostasis which Uri Seligsohn and Frits Rosendaal will be chairing in Cascais, Portugal, in November.  If you want to reserve one of the last available seats in the meeting, please do so now.
Finally, we would like to invite you to view the new ESH website and to join the ESH Virtual Network. The website has been designed to facilitate navigation so that you can easily identify and find the educational information and tools that interest you. It has also been built to facilitate administrative procedures. The Virtual Network allows you to compile your own, password protected professional portfolio and, if you like, to share parts of it with the other members of the community. It also allows you to determine the educational pathways and key words that are of particular interest to you so that you receive ESH information on the topics that are of specific interest to you.
