Continuing medical education (CME) is
now widely established to encourage the
individual practitioners to maintain and develop
professional knowledge and skills. Accreditation
systems have been designed and implemented in
some medical specialties.
Accredited CME activities differ from other
educational activities because its quality has
been confirmed by a board of recognized
specialists in the field of hematology. The EHA
established the European Council for
Accreditation in Hematology (ECAH) for this
purpose.
Why should you collect CME credits?
It is important to collect CME credits
not only to keep track of your participation in
CME activities, but also to strengthen the
quality and professional status of the specialty
throughout Europe. By collecting CME points you
are demonstrating your interest in life-long
learning and the importance of upgrading your
knowledge and skills on a regular basis.
