ESH’s mission is to develop, coordinate and implement programmes for the dissemination of information and lifelong learning in the form of live events and online training for specialists in all fields of haematology and related disciplines, according to pre-established standards of quality and review set by the ESH Executive and Scientific Committees in collaboration with programme chairs and editors.
ESH provides a platform for scientific interactions among experts and delivers life-long learning to haematologists to improve patient outcome, foster collaborations and enrich career development over a sustained period.ESH provides a diverse portfolio of:
· scientific, translational research and clinically oriented meetings at which expert international faculties actively inform, mentor and interact face to face with trainees and practicing scientists and clinicians from across the world
· freely accessible on-line training tools, webcasts, comprehensive curricula and interactive handbooks.
DELIVERING LIFELONG LEARNING TO HAEMATOLOGISTS:
A. ESH LIVE MEETINGS are designed to promote scientific interaction.
A.1. ESH Translational Research Conferences:
ESH Translational Research Conferences address leading-edge biological, clinical and therapeutic questions from state-of-the-art to future perspectives.
Each 2,5 day conference is open to an international audience of 300-500 biologists and clinicians, including those still in-training.
Examples include the following:
• Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia
• Myeloproliferative Neoplasms
• Acute Myeloid Leukaemia
• Myelodysplastic Syndromes
• Multiple Myeloma
• B Cell Malignancies
• Cord Blood Transplantation
A.2. ESH Training Courses:
ESH Training Courses are 2-3 day meetings that provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art training on a transversal topic. They welcome an international audience of 150-200 biologists and clinicians with all degrees of experience, including those still in-training.
Examples include the following:
• Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation
• Red Blood Cells – Genesis and Pathophysiology
• Diagnosis and Management of Very Rare Cell and Iron Disorders
• WHO Classification: 2016 and beyond. How to best diagnose and specifically treat haematological diseases?
A.3. ESH Clinical Updates:
ESH Clinical Updates are disease-specific meetings that address state-of-the-art diagnostic and clinical management. They are based on the presentation and analysis of real clinical cases. Voting technology is used as a self-evaluation tool and to increase scientific interaction.
These are 2 day meetings that typically welcome an international audience of 200 participants of all degrees of experience.
Examples include the following:
• Clinical Updates on Multiple Myeloma
• Clinical Updates on Agressive Lymphoma
A.4 ESH Scientific Workshops:
ESH Scientific Workshops focus on topics of high current interest in basic research in haematology.
They are 2,5 day meetings organized for an international audience of 150-200 biologists and clinicians.
Examples include the following:
• The Tumour Environment in Haematological Malignancies and its Therapeutic Targeting
• AML ‘Molecular’
• T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia
• Anti-Inflammatory and Immune Modulatory Properties of MSCs
B. ESH TRAINING TOOLS:
